the blood of love soon neglected
lay dying in the strength of it's impurity
meanwhile our friends we though were so together
they've all gone and left eachother
in search of fairer weather
-- "LOVE'S RECOVERY" Indigo Girls
At 6:20 PM Tohru began walking down the stairs.
At 6:21 PM Kyo walked up past her.
At 6:25 PM Tohru thought that the glint of silver in his palm really wasn't right, so she finished making dinner and walked upstairs to check on him.
At 6:30 PM she knocked on the door.
At 6:30:36 PM she still hadn't recieved an answer.
At 6:31 PM she knocked again.
At 6:33 PM she opened the door quietly.
At 6:24 PM Kyo tore his wrists and slit his thighs.
At 6:33:21 PM he was found on the floor with a kitchen knife in his hand, staring up at the ceiling with wide eyes. There was no blood.
At 6:33:26 PM Tohru began screaming
At 6:45 PM she stopped.
When they both were found, at 7:01:03 PM, Kyo was rushed to the Sohma complex.
At 7:30 PM he was pronounced dead.
At 8:45 AM Tohru awoke.
When she rolled over in her bed, at 8:46 AM, and saw the cats dancing across the walls in her grandfather's favorite room, she realized something was wrong.
At 8:51 AM she couldn't place exactly what it was.
At 8:54 her grandfather called for her to join them at breakfast.
At 8:54:44 she answered and said she would be down in a minute.
At 8:55 AM she tried to remember what exactly it was she had been dreaming about.
At 8:55:28 AM she came to the conclusion that if she had forgotten, it obviously wasn't worth remembering.

For some reason when I wrote this I kept picturing Kyo not bleeding. The thought of him having cut himself deep, bringing his own death, but not being able to see his own blood and convince himself there was at least the tiniest shred of human and beauty in him... was rather morbid. So I put it in the story. It makes no sense, I know, but take it for what it is.
