Top 10 Tips for Club Presidents


1. Set a vision of President's Distinguished for your club and communicate your vision statement to your club in July.

2. Include your vision statement with your e-mail signature in all Toastmasters-related e-mail communications.

3. Ask your club members for their 2001-02 goals in July.

4. Meet with your club officers in July to create Distinguished Club Program goals and communicate the final goals to your club members and Area Governor.

5. Use the High Performance Leadership program as part of your personal growth as president.

6. Recognize club members and officers each meeting for special accomplishments or contributions.

7. Be an active conduit of information from the District and Toastmasters International.

8. Review your District Web site weekly and the Toastmasters International Web site (www.toastmasters.org ) at least bi-weekly.

9. Remember to spend more encouraging manual speeches at meetings than participation in speech contests.

10. Be a role model by working on the leadership and/or educational track yourself.
