Through the years of heartache I have been
I think because of all my sins
I wrote before of all my trials
But I brought them on myself.
From selfishness, revenge and needs
I can not justify all my deeds
To all of you that I've hurt so
I beg forgiveness from my soul
A cheating heart does not pay
You hurt so many lives that way
It's not just your life don't you see?
It's the ones you love, the ones you need
There is no peace when you're untrue
Because you think only of you
For every heart that you break
Part of your soul he will take
So you try to reconcile your mind
It can't be done, you will find
So before I leave this great earth
I ask myself what was it's worth?
As I confess my life to you
I hope that you won't be untrue
So before you decide to stray
I ask of you instead to pray
So to my knees I must go
To ask forgiveness for my soul
And ask that he will take my sins
And make whole to love again
I know that he will carry me
For Jesus Christ just set me free!
