Mom, I hope you hear these words I say,
As I wish you a Happy Mothers Day.
Mom, I miss you today so very much,
I really miss your loving touch.
I can see you right now in your kitchen,
Cooking for us some pan fried chicken.
I remember when I was but a little child,
We'd go mushroom hunting in the wild.
Or when you'd take your old cane pole,
Then down to the river we all would go.
If you'd get a bite your heart would race,
We had to move or get a fish in the face!
I'll remember forever, my whole life long,
The day they told me you were gone.
That Christmas Eve in my mind still stirs,
Those awful days after are still a blur.
But all these years your presence I've felt,
As I think of you now, my heart still melts.
You would come to me in my dreams,
You helped me through so many things.
I'll always be thankful to God above,
For in those dreams I felt your love.
You told me of things that would be,
Or if there were danger close to me.
You stayed til my life was all straight,
So now in heaven for us, you wait.
Three are with you and here there's seven,
So a Mothers Day wish we send to heaven.
