Beautiful Memories
My mind keeps going back to years gone past, To all of the good times that we had. And when my children were very small, Oh God, how much I love them all! Sitting there on the old porch swing, With them on my lap I would sing. We'd wish upon the stars at night, While swinging in the old moon light. As the little ones sit on my knee, The others played hide and seek. I miss those days so very much, A kiss on the cheek or just their touch. Their little hands were so small back then. Sometimes I wish that I'd had ten! Their first day of school I remember plain, I'd sit home and worry they'd get lost again. It seemed one would always miss the bus, So I'd get on the phone to raise a fuss. Or with a rod and reel, fishing they'd go, Come back home with lines tangled so. I'm thankful, God, for what you gave me, And for all these Beautiful Memories!
