To Cross The Line

Lord, please guide me today,
As I write these words I say.
So very careful I have to be,
As I write what's inside of me.

To discriminate should not be done,
Equal rights for everyone.
As we travel down lifes path,
Many decisions we all have.

The right to pick the ones we love,
With Gods blessings from above.
God split us up into many races,
Many features and many faces.

I know your life you have to live,
But these words to you I give.
When you decide to cross this line,
I pray the Lord is by your side.

The little children always pay,
For mistakes a parent makes.
Even families can be unkind,
To a little child, you will find.

As they look in your childs face,
All they'll see is another race.
They won't care about the tears,
In childrens eyes filled with fear.

Because the words that racists say,
Can hurt so much throughout their days.
Please make sure your love is true.
For they will need the both of you.
