Another year has rolled around,
No peace of mind can be found.
Many times at Christmas season,
I must give to you all the reasons,
I have no gifts for you this year.
My heart is low and filled tears.
I wish I could go very far away,
To keep from facing the holiday.
One more time it would be great,
To have the money to celebrate
The birth of Christ by giving gifts.
It would give my heart such a lift,
A Christmas tree for you so tall,
To have presents for one and all.
It humbles us all so much to learn,
We just can`t afford a gift in return.
I know sorrow we should not feel,
But it is just so very hard to deal,
As a little child can`t understand.
But I would cut off my right hand,
If I would never again have to say,
"I have no present for you today"
Now I really honestly do believe,
It is better to give than to receive.
I pray someday you wonder why,
You are having Christmas In July!
