He Sent Me An Angel

She wasn't my real grandmother you see,
But the whole world she meant to me.
For any day I showed up at her door,
I was met with hugs and kisses galore.
She always told me of Gods great love,
And how one day she'd be with Him above.
And the greatest pleasure for her would be,
If I was in church for her to see.
All of those secrets she whispered in my ear,
I'll treasure in my heart for years and years.
For she always bounced like a little child,
And I never seen her without a smile.
I can just see her up there looking down,
Like she was here just bouncing around.
I know God is telling her of her great worth,
For she was my angel, here on earth.
I'd bet she hugging his angels today,
And reminding them all that they should pray.
When I think of His angels up there above,
I know how they must be enjoying her love.
So, Alberta, I'm writing this poem for you,
In the memory of your mother, who I once knew.
And I thank you for sharing her love with me.

So forever, in my heart her memory will be.
For she took my family under her wing,
And forever her praises we all sing.
