Again This Year
I'm sitting here now where my trailer used to be, Admiring the beautiful flowers and trees. I see my 'redbud' is now in full bloom, The blossoms on the 'apple' tree will be soon. The 'rose of sharons' are just starting to leave, Just planted last year now are taller than me! Tiny purple leaves are on my 'purple plum', But I lost most of my beautiful 'mums'. And the 'bleeding hearts' are a sight to see, They are planted under the 'hackleberry tree'. 'Lilies' are just popping up through the ground. But none of my 'hollyhocks' have I found. My 'corkscrew willow' is scorched on one side, So I'm really hoping that it will be fine. I had just planted it five years ago. I only lost two of my 'rose bushes' though, I've one 'mum' left under the 'weeping willow' tree, On a little grave in our dog, Porkys memory. The 'dogwoods' are in bloom for all to see, And I hear the birds chirping up in the trees. I think I need to paint the bird bath though, Plant 'peonies' and 'cannas' so they will grow. My beautiful 'phlox' covers the tractor tires. So see I didn't lose everything in the fire. So with Gods help I'll get myself in gear, And start planting a garden Again This Year!
