We'll Get Through

My stomach is churning deep inside,
As I wait for you to be in my sight.
I wish for comforting words to say,
To help you through these awful days.
The hands on my clock move so slow,
As I sit here and wait for time to go.
If I could I would take your place,
At least I'll see your smiling face.
That precious smile that I love so,
Has always set my heart aglow.
My hands are trembling as I write,
Wishing that I could hold you tight.
It could be different, this I know,
If back in time we could go.
The Lord don't tell us what's ahead,
He makes us wait to see instead.
Two more hours I'll be on my way,
To see my precious son today.
Then my headache will be no more,
When I walk through those doors.
I can't stand it when we're apart,
Son, I know the love in your heart.
I hope you know how much I love you,
Son, trust in God and we'll get through.
