Thou Shalt Not Covet
Want and covet are words of the same, Of this, I know, we are all to blame. We've all wanted what someone else has, I've heard it called jealousy in the past, We wish we had someone elses house, Some even want someone elses spouse. Or a neighbors car we wish we had, If one gets rich another gets sad. Usually it starts in our childhood days, We don't understand our Fathers ways. But we should be happy for someone else, Instead of only thinking of ourselves. We would all have such peace of mind, Comfort at home we would then find. We don't always have to be number one, Second or third can also be fun. We might even be on down the line, But remember it's only in our minds. I heard the top is a lonely place, That's not where I want to spend my days. I'm just as guilty as any one of you, So now to myself I have to be true. The next time we think we are the best, We need to give thought to all the rest. I know you have all heard before, "Thou shalt not covet," said the Lord.
