A Bittersweet Week

I had written you once of a dream I once had,
All of my children together I would have.
Well yesterday for real they were all there with me,
But together, some just didn't speak.

It was on my youngest sons wedding day,
So it was bittersweet is all I can say.
One of my daughters had a broken heart,
Because her marriage had fallen apart.

It seemed she cried the whole day through,
And seeing her cry broke my heart in two.
She left this morning to go back home,
But she was feeling so much alone.

I just kept telling her it would be alright,
But I knew different deep, down inside.
So now this week has come to an end,
With one marriage sealed, another to mend.

So all in all it's been bittersweet,
For so much can happen in just one week.
So if your reading this poem today,
I ask of you for my family to pray.

For God to send us all peace of mind,
And forever some happiness we all find.
