A Big Family

It takes two for a marriage to break,
So now my share of blame I will take.

I'm writing this poem for you today,
Because I still have things to say.

To all of the families I have from the past,
From other marriages that didn't last.

I thank you for treating me the same,
Even though I've changed my name.

A sister-in-law told me in the past,
"It's not your fault that it didn't last.

You can divorce him but you can't divorce me,
You'll be a sister-in-law forever to me."

A piece of paper don't take the caring away,
You'll be my family til my dying day.

I wish I had room to call each name,
But in my heart you'll always remain.

So if you have an 'ex' try to remain friends,
It makes it much easier for us all in the end.

Don't live with bitterness in your life everyday,
It's so much better on us all this way.

And I thank my heavenly Father above,
For my extra big family he gave me to love.
