A Battle For Life
The year nineteen hundred and ninty six Thirty eight years was all he had lived They thought thier future was sealed many years, But after his office call-they broke into tears. The doctor told them he had but six months more, And not knowing then what life had in store. So with no idea what thier future would hold, When they got home their children they told. Chemotherapy and radiation soon came after, Then to all of us he just wasn't the same. I could see on my daughters tortured face, As she tried to deal with her husbands fate. Their burdens were more than they could stand. So we all prayed for Gods helping hand. As we prayed and told Him how we cared, We hopefully asked for his life to be spared. Finally after a year we got some good news, The doc then said, "I don't think he will lose". So with some hope back to school he went, Now even three years of college he's spent. He's still in remission and each day is a test. Now we all know a miracle we got from the best. So if you're reading my poem today. I ask of you all for my son-in-law to pray. Lots of burdens have since been relieved And now I thank the Lord For the miracle we recieved!
