There are twelve signs in the zodiac and they roughly correspond with the month. (Zodiac is 'Rasi' in Vedic Astrology - the equivalent for each sign is given in brackets) Each sign has a property that plays a factor in your chart. When the zodiac is applied to a house, it indicates how the person deals with the issues of that house.
