The items on this page are the input from Yves Fohlen, an Frenchman (hence his self administered title of Froggy) who is a person with constant exposure to the battlefields and cemeteries of France. He acts as a part time tour guide. If you want to contact him email him at [email protected]

I take this opportunity to thank him for his input, his help and his attitude.

this is an email I received from a mate of Yves . . .

Ted,

thank you for your e-mail about my mate Yves Fohlen. I have known Yves since 1998 by correspondence and finally met him with  the then Major John Phelan (now Lt.Col) and Lt.Col Mick Byrnes from 42Bn. RQR at Villers Bretonneux Anzac Day Celebrations and with another person spent the next day being shown around the battlefields, especially geared around the 42nd Bn.

Yves mentor was John Laffin . Yves has written two books. "He came from Australia", about Lt. Percy Ralph 53rd Bn. and the book he launched last year on 9th September here in Sydney "With Guts and Bayonets" about Diggers and Doughboys on the Hindenburg Line 1918.

Yves stayed with me last year here in Sydney for several days before visiting many friends around Australia, Sydney, Adelaide and Mackay. He really is a "Fair dinkum Froggy Cobber"

His daughter,  born in May this year, he named ADELAIDE .

 Regards, Alan K
