History: Arietti was found on the beach when she was barely a year old. A young man by the name of Haren had been walking the beach while in port and found her there, amidst a tangle of seaweed. He took the spirit girl in and raised her on his ship, the High Wind. Though his crew was nervous at first, they soon warmed up to the giggly little girl and looked upon her as a good omen from their God.

The young Captain soon rose up, becoming one of the best sailors to ride the sea and as his 'daughter' grew, he taught her all he knew. Arietti learned the art of swordplay from a merchant who traveled with them, learned to navigate from her own father, learned the ways of the criminals while transporting a mercenary and even to prepare food from the ship's own bawdy cook! When she was twenty summers old, Arietti became enamored with one of the cabin boys, a young lad by the name of Cael. One night of attempted passion left both of them shaken and scared and Cael was soon left in the nearest port after a wild bout of name calling. Arietti looked upon joining and males differently after that, and stayed away from any who would look upon her sexually.

Ten years later, Haren was swept overboard in a storm and Arietti took it upon herself to Captain the High Wind. None of her loyal crew raised a fuss and she took off where her father left off, being a loyal trader and smuggling some here and there. Five turns ago, Arietti began to feel a strange pull, like she was being pulled somewhere. It was a feeling that would come and go, but got a bit stronger each year, until soon enough this calling was too strong to ignore. She then gave her ship to her first mate, who had been her father's first mate before, and bought a horse. She started traveling, steeling herself to enter a world unknown to her . . .

Quote: "There's nothing like a strong sea breeze and a strong dark ale to get your blood flowing!"
