Sakhi Hazara: An Emigrant Virtuoso

Sakhi Hazara was born in Afghanistan in 1976. At a very young age he and his
family left Afghanistan for Quetta, Pakistan to avoid persecution. He finished
his high school in Quetta and then studied civil-engineering at General Mohd.
Musa College. He had always been interested in Arts since his early childhood
but never found any chance of promotion or polishing his skills.
Seeking asylum, in September 1999 he went to Australia where
he is now a citizen. He currently lives in Brisbane, Queensland. He is a
self-taught professional artist and also a graphic designer. He loves computer
graphics and ranks computer and digital equipments as very helpful for artworks.
He works in a variety of styles such as Realism, Surrealism, Photo Realism and
Symbolism but now he works in his own style called "Hazaraism".
Sakhi puts his feelings in his paintings so as to share them
with others. He has been exhibiting his works around Australia since May 2000.
In 2002 he worked with Warner Brothers Movies as Prop
Illustrator on the film "The Last Man". He has also worked on many art projects
and once as a main character in the film "Musafir" in Queensland.
Sakhi has competed in National as well as International
Competitions and has yet received prominent positions, certificatesof merti and
highly commended awards.
