“TO THE SEASIDE” 6 August 97

I guess its time to say goodbye
to switch out the light
the star blinks out in time
just another ordinary love flickers and dies

Another night left inside
listening to old Cure b-sides
and hoping for a better life
than debt and Channel Five

So leave it all behind
take the train to the seaside
if you can get off work
I wish I could come with you
and swim in the sea
so deep blue

We’re lovers
but there’s no love
and all we know is how to show
that something’s wrong
