On an expensive silk shirt
in hand, gold stitching;
“Proud To Be A Sikh”

Is it not a sin for a man to be proud
for a man not to kneel humbly
in the face of a God by whatever name

Is humility not a virtue
of a man who knows his place before
his God

The sin of pride
is the poison that defiles men.
man defiles the God he made.

By his religions.
By the pride.
By the bodies of the dead
in the name of the lord.
