“SUMMER” 02 June 00
Today I wore a suit
to make love real
the uniform of a drone
to keep my identity concealed
I woke earlier than the sun
to travel, to work, to be paid
because two can be one
when we lie together at the end of the day
and its summer
there’s sunshine in the rain
there’s hope in the darkness
I just looked away
put it down somewhere
it wasn’t that I didn’t care
just that being alive got in the way
