”SO YOU WILL NEVER HURT AGAIN” 24 february 2003

living an uncertain life
as a future we never had
turned to regret

a past is just a ripped photograph
if we could,
we would rather regret

I used to know my way
I used to be sure
and then you went away
self pity is such a bore

shackled to the untrue
bound to the hypocrite
as parasites suck us dry
and we strive to be released

answers give us questions -
who will co-operate and
who will acknowledge I am alive
A liar. A thief. A concubine.

and you thought
all you had to do
was walk away
its just like you
to pervert trust to hate

and all I have is dignity
it’s the one thing you can’t steal

imagine no possessions
it’s easy because you tried
revenge – no, justice is an obsession
so you will never hurt again

you never knew
you are what you do
how cruel and how small
your actions make you
