“MOTHER” 18 Sept 97

There’s a million poems called Mother
all about peoples Mothers
who lived ordinary lives
and died in ordinary ways
who never care about someone else’s Mum
and how much they miss them
when we miss our own.

Even that Sylvia Plath one,
“Daddy You Bastard”
or whatever its called
is only notorious because she wears
who cares?

I want her back.
