“A LOVE REVERSED” 19 November 2003
At the appointed time we meet
So cold in waiting rooms
No smiles, just teeth
As a process is followed
The statements made
Declarations of varying truths
I hide my feelings
(whispers)
I wish I’d never met you
In a solicitors office
Love becomes a case
We chopped the kids in half
Our histories were erased
We pretend we never loved
Life is easier that way
The papers are filed
The judgements made
The ties severed
A love reversed
In seventy seconds
Those years were unmade.
