“JEALOUSY” 16th August 2000
I want the house,
I want the wife,
I want the kids, the car, the dog
Mortgage payments, a job,
and all the strain it brings:
I want it all -
it’s not that much
just the same as a mortal man
and the hope that lives
and breathes on the edge of my lips
It all comes in a pattern,
first the kiss that shakes the world
everything else follows
from that tiny pearl of wisdom
I want it all -
to be loved.
