“EVERY ONE OF MY YEARS” 30 Jan 04
I searched for the meaning in all things
I hope for the answers in the bottom of a glass
I tried to find out why I’m alive
It was nowhere in our unmade bed
God, silent in his benevolence
As he always is
I tried to find my answers
I hoped for peace
As to why anything exists
My friends the lifeboats
Leaving my wake
The lovers I betrayed
The mistakes I made
I only wanted to see you smile
But the lessons were learnt
It’s made of pain this life
I never meant for a kiss to bring you hurt
Every one of my years
Will disown me
There will be nothing left but tears
Like a sinking ship
I went down in history
The answer came
The trumpets rang clear
Love and kindness our reasons
Love is why we are here
