THE ENEMIES OF FREEDOM

It’s finally happened. Every small step, every slight increment is just the escalation. The world is a frog in a heated pan, we are boiling slowly to death, and nobody seems smart enough to realise that we will all reap what they sow. With every atrocity mankind steps further towards achieving its own extinction.

The only people who do seem to realise that this is what’s happening – Messers Bush and Blair – are those who want it to happen. Who want to sit in the driving seat as harbingers of The Rapture, and claim their role as architects of Armageddon.

“In America they have a thing called show your cards, where you show your cards. We’ve showed our cards, and now it is time for others to show their cards” – Mr Bush once said. And America has never shown its card’s. Until now. The ugly side of America : the skull beneath the skin of its hollow puff about ideals, freedom, and being the good guys is finally wearing thin.

We are what we do. And what we are doing in Iraq, (and by “We” I mean America and Britain, not ourselves as individuals) is perpetrating acts of evil. Evil breeds evil. People respond in the same manner as the way they are treated. Treat people like animals, and they become animals in order to survive.

And so, Al Qaeda behead on video an American. How, one thinks, is this different from American forces nonchalantly shooting Iraqis? How is this different from napalm and bombing of villages? How is this different from the sexual abuse, rape, and torture of prisoners?

It isn’t. It is an obscene act of murder, but one that is no different from every other act of murder committed during the course of the war.

American forces claim the forces behind this beheading are “The Enemies Of Freedom”. Is it not also true that those who lie, suppress the media, deceive the public, change the constitution, remove our rights, swing, bias and buy elections and start wars in order to get re-elected are also “The Enemies Of Freedom”? Is it not also true that those who try to prevent us from knowing the facts of the case, and delay them from hitting the headlines for four months, and also try to fake evidence to discredit the facts are also “The Enemies Of Freedom”?

These so-called Enemies Of Freedom are in many respects more honest than our own leaders. At least they make no claims to be operating within a democratic system. At least they do not pervert the values that it claims are the greatest of human dreams, and use these to deceive millions.

No matter what you believe, it is not your words, but your actions, that are the true test of one’s morals. Everyone is guilty, and none more publically than the United States : guilty of hypocrisy and murder. Now, if we can time the prosecution of a leader of State for War Crimes to co-incide with the elections that are inevitable, maybe, for once, we might see regime change at home as well as abroad. You have got to practice what you preach.

Especially if you are ready for The Rapture, and Judgement Day is coming.
