“THE DEAD WEIGHT” 6 Aug 96
Regularly, like clockwork
every 30 days I lose the dead weight
a reflection in a broken mirror
I am wounded, but will survive
float like a feather on the breeze
hoping for a sunkissed beach
arms stretched out, let the wind take my
dead weight, carry me away
and the cliff edge with rustled hair
open arms
hoping to fly
for a holiday
