BACK TO SCHOOL

The Government is planning some fucked up positive discrimination when it comes to Uni admissions. Come from what they call the ghetto and you get in. Equalising the supposed inequalities in university admissions by allowing those with lower grades from underpriviledged schools into university.

Now, forgive me for being thick, but isn’t that ‘positive discrimination’? And isn’t positive discrimination a way of saying that those lovely white, middle class, smart people are put at a disadvantage?

Since when did you get into somewhere, even if you screwed up your grades, just because of where you’re from?

What’s the justice? The equality?

I worked my bollocks off to get my A-Levels. My degree. My Masters. There is NO way I can accept, without voicing my opinion, that biasing University admissions so underprivileged thickos who can’t pass exams get in. I don’t give a shit where you’re from : if you fail your exams you’re not that clever.

Fuck it. Get off your arse and do the work.

Now, before you start thinking I’m doing a BNP or something hear me out. All people are equal. All of them. Not some more equal than others. Not those who get lower grades are smarter than others.

If I found out someone who got worse grades than me got my university place, I’d be fucking fuming. As if I’m not a walking tense ball of rage constantly waiting to unfurl.

Which I’m not. Honestly.

What would be the point of studying? Just move to some shithole and get your Uni place for free. You can blame it on urban deprivation, or something. Whatever you like.

The point is simple. The university admissions system needs to be flat. Absolute 100% equality for all. It needs to be based exclusively on results. Not excuses. Not on ramping it up for people in places where the Government perceives itself to be failing. Not compensating for places where people don’t work very hard, or do very well.

All of us are born equal. Apart from those who are born more equal than others.

Fuck em. Fuck the fucking fuckers. When University admissions are judged on the basis of privilege (of any form) and positive discrimination then they become worthless.

No point working for it, eh? Might as well move back to Walsall. I might just wait and see if I get a degree free in my Shreddies.

Yeah, equality for all. Just some ghettos are more equal than others, some grades are lower than others, and some girls mothers are bigger than others.
