APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION

Much as I hate to admit it, George Bush is probably a great President. A lousy human being, for sure, but a great President.

Maybe Ive been nave, but I used to think that the leaders of our nations had a very responsible job. That job being, of course, to govern the nations. To act in that nations best interests. Which is what they do : but they lack perspective. They either dont realise, or dont care, that looking solely at the small slice of a global picture will have only one result. Extinction.

Instead of working together, in a United Nations, I now realise that leaders, governers, presidents, and dictators are working against the Human Race. Now that might sound unfair, but its true. Instead of working with a global vision, each nations leader is working in an isolated insular manner. Each is following his own vision thing : and that vision is simple. Get re-elected. Think only about your own nation.

So in some respects, hes a good president, because he is and to the exclusion of other concerns solely interested in his own nation. But a policy like that will result in our extinction.

Instead of trying to work together with every other nation on the planet, these people are working against every other nation, working against humanity to bolster their own individual causes. The problem with humanity, and no leader is bold enough to suggest it, is that the sum will always be greater than the parts. A race divided is a race weakened and the human race is doing itself a disservice with this divisionist, petty squabbling whilst we stand on the edge of extinction.

We need leaders who understand the big picture, and work to create a world where mankind might actually have a future. Otherwise all of this is doomed and useless.

A WORLD DIVIDED.

George Bush is just one, and probably the worst, example of this. Instead of verifying the Kyoto treaty in order to save the entire planet George Bush instead just saw that this might affect US industry and rescinded on it. He condemned the world and now, in the future, there might not be any country in the world, let alone the US. All for profit.

What bigger example do you need that our leaders are running our countries as if they were businesses and trying to get re-elected to feed their own egos? This planet stands on the edge of war and ecological destruction, and the only way the only way that the human race can excise itself from this godawful mess and possibly even continue to exist is if we shelve the artificial divisions of nation and religion and work together, as one, to evolve and get off this planet.

Instead all we have now are a series of leaders who are looking out only for their own interests, without realising that unless we as a planet start to look beyond what we want and think about what we all want there pretty soon wont be a planet left to fight over.

Lets do it. Lets evolve. Lets make sure these guys act responsibly instead of selfishly and work for the Global Village instead of as Village Idiots.

Soon all that will be left are the cockroaches they survive anything. Even mankind, the most dangerous animal of all. And, if were not careful, the stupidest. In a few million years time, it could be very well that some future lifeform indignant to this planet will be using our residue as fossil fuels and recreating our bones in museums. If we remain this stupid, we will be as extinct as the dinosaurs. And the human race will be run.

The responsibility lies with our leaders. They need to look beyond flags, dogma, and nations, and realise that there is only one nation : the Human Nation. And this may sound idealist, but without ideals, we will be animals, and extinct ones at that.
