Doversquare
At Toronto and East York Community Council on Tuesday July 5th, 2005, Joe Pantalone put forward a motion to ammend the recent report from Toronto City Planning on the Doversquare file to include "funding for capital improvements to Dufferin Grove Park" in the list of potential community benefits the City will be negotiating for if there is increased density granted on the site. The DGRA is very pleased that Joe has listened to the community and made this important addition. In combination with their earlier January report, the newest City Planning report, as ammended, represents the position that the City will be defending at the upcoming Ontario Municipal Board hearing in September. The DGRA is continuing to work with the Doversquare Tenants Association and the City of Toronto, in preparing our case for the hearing. If you have any input or would like more information on the position of the DGRA, please don't hesitate to contact us. Click here to view important documents in our Archive.

Sylvan and Havelock
Toronto and East York Community Council also approved the June 15th preliminary planning report from City Planning regarding a proposed 4-storey development at Havlock and Sylvan. The first public consultation meeting was on July 12th at Councillor Giambrone's constituency office. Councillor Giambrone advised that a working group will be formed shortly to address the many outstanding issues that have been raised about this development. We will communicate details about the working group to you shortly. Click here to view important documents in our Archive, including comments from the DGRA Executive on the current proposal.
