Here is a picture looking over the front (North) side of the Saddle. The big dry lake is called "Coyote Lake." This also overlooks part of the Ft. Irwin military reservation. It is hard to tell from the picture, but if you look at the lower-right you can kind of get a feel for how steep the drop off is.
