Shemar Moore

Shemar Moore joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in April 1994 and received Emmy Award nominations in 1996 and 1997 as Outstanding Younger Leading Actor for his portrayal of Malcolm Winters in the CBS daytime drama. In 1998, he was the recipient of the Outstanding Lead Actor In a Daytime Drama at the NAACP Image Awards. In 1999, he was nominated as Outstanding Lead Actor at the NAACP Image Awards.

Prior to joining The Young and the Restless, Moore had guest-starring roles in "The Nanny," on the CBS Television Network, "Living Single" and in the HBO original series "Arliss" and "The Art of the Sports Super Agent."

He recently starred in the lead role of Freddy Rowland in the HBO movie "Butter." He co-starred in the CBS mini-series "Mama Flora�s Family" and "Chicago Hope." He also has appeared in national television commercials.

Moore was a successful print and runway fasion model before launching his acting career. He has appeared in such publications as Gentleman�s Quarterly and Mademoiselle and in fashion layouts for major department store chains.

In 1999, Moore hosted the "Miss USA Pageant" and the "Hula Parade" portions of CBS� Thanksgiving Day Parades program. He also guest-starred in the television series "Moesha," "For Your Love" and "Malcolm and Eddie." He completed a supporting role in the feature film "Box Malloy."

Moore attended Santa Clara University, where he majored in communications and played varsity baseball. He was born in Oakland, California, and raised in Palo Alto. His hobbies include photography, sports, traveling and baking.

Moore was born on April 20. He stands 6'1" and had black hair and brown eyes.
