| "Vessels" He was just a lonely boy Standing on the street All that he knew was he had nothing to eat The people just walked by with no expressions on their faces All the people knew was that that he was homeless and weak but what they didn't know was that he had something to preach He wanted to step out to show his place All he could say was: I'm God's child too, why do they seem to know: Who I am, where I've been, what my purpose is? Where He'll have me go, His servant will never know... She was an average girl With a bow in her hair She was expected to be Something sepcial with flare All she wanted was to just melt away Ev'ry morning she woke up She wanted to scream What they didn't know was she had bigger dreams All she wanted was to get all the make-up off her small face All she could say was: I'm God's child too, why do they seem to know: Who I am, where I've been, what my purpose is? Where He'll have me go, His servant will never know... Why do we stare at the obvious? We are all the same, even in His eyes One day we'll have to see our fate As vessels that will one day have to say: We're God's children too, why do they seem to know: Who we are, where we've been, what our purpose is? Where He'll have us go, His servants will never know... They were big names Standing on the stage The people cheered them on 'Cause they were the new craze They went out after with thoughts running through their heads "Why do they come to us? There is so much more that they haven't seen Something to die for" So all their thoughts came too say: We're God's children too, why do they seem to know: Who we are, where we've been, what our purpose is? Where He'll have us go, His servants will never know.... (repeat) Oct. 23-25, 2003 |
