Fatass's Proper RP Etiquette 101
I'm putting this up to clear things up. Getting kinda tired of failed RPs, so this should put an end to that. Let you know what I expect out of you right up front, and let you know what you can expect of me. I finally found a good place to do the ranting that won't have too many repricussions. I know some of the following of my opinions and views are enevitably going to offend some of you RP purists out there. Well, all I have to say is, too damn bad. You'll get over it. I'm not writing this for you, so aparently you're wasting both your time and mine. So read on, and know all the greatness that is the Fatass.
For me: The Good.....
I'm not very controlling or picky. Open to every genre. I will literally do any genre. That is not to say I'll do someting like say, vore. Why do you ask? Vore is a sub-genre of sexual RP. I will do sexual RP(even though I prefer sensual over sexual), but I won't do vore. I said I do all genre, however there are certain sub-genre I won't do, and even though this isn't the proper section to put this I'll do it anyway since it is relevant, which I'll list here:
A. Sexual:
1. Snuff
2. Vore
3. Scat
4. Piss
5. All forms of toliet play
6. Animal play *Update* Exceptions are made if the animal is sentient
B. Fighting:
1. T2
2. T3
3. T4 and up (I've heard rumors of 4 and 5, not sure but I doubt I'll accept them)
4. Any MSN or AOL styles like 1-2-3, or any style that legalizes auto'ing or god modding.
5.Speed Fighting(Whoever posts their attack first connects. Think quick draw)
C. Questing:
1. Clans
2. Tribes
3. Anything similar to above but not mentioned
Due to the stupidty of one or two individuals in Ayenee, I must clarify this list is for things I don't do ok? Fairly certain that's most of them, although I might have missed one. If I find anymore I'll add them. I promise to you well written posts, with flavor, refreshing dialouge, and properly contructed sentences. My grammar is up to par, and my typographical errors are few and far between. I type fast, and watch the screen as I type, so I catch many errors before I post.
My storylines are interesting, thought provoking, and well played out. My plot pacing is very good, and I play out the story in a healthy mix of sub plots. My posts themselves are beautiful to read, I've been told. I use a myriad of words to adequately portray my vision. They are so descriptive to the point one should have no trouble seeing the post in their mind crystal clear.
That is not to say I drone on though, or use overly poetic words no one knows and that you'd have to use a thesaurus to know what in the hell I'm talking about. I am not a strict style conformist. That means I don't adhere to a specific length of post. Example: I don't oneline, or "multi" because I refuse to do nothing but one line or multi posts. I post whatever is on my mind, no matter how much text it translates to. I am a writer before a role player, and I absolutely refuse to stuff my post with pointless drivel and filler to make it longer.
I also will on occasion oneline, simply because I will find it unecissary to put anything else. I fear putting more than is needed only detracts from the point I am trying to get across. So in layman's terms, my post length fluctuates. My fighting style is REC, Realistic-Event-flowChart. If anyone asks, I'll write a tutorial for it, but only if I'm asked. Basically it is a deadly, yet fair style me and some friends pioneered and tested. The style to my knowledge is flawless. I've yet to find anything unfair or inaccurate with it. It makes for fair and challenging battles with me. Combined with this style, my OOC knowledge of combat techniques, and my IC fighting prowess, I should hope to give you an envigorating battle experiance.
If you want to make love to any of my characters, then good luck. I do Romance, and winning my character's heart is the only way to get anywhere with them. Don't expect to get very far the first time you meet him/her. Alot of the time people will quit an RP with me simply for this fact. I don't screw right away, and they get bored with the courtship. Please people, I prefer Romance. Sex is not bad, in fact, if it is executed properly it can add a beautiful touch to an already existing storyline.
However, tasteless sex is digusting, and ruins any attempt that may have been made at a decent RP. More often than not in this situation after the sex the RP falls apart, since both people have achieved what they set out to do, further play is pointless. On that note, I long term. Which means, I opt for a continuous storyline, one that does not stop with one or two sessions of RP. Plus, all IC experiance my characters go through counts towards their developement. If you befriend Reba for example, in further RP with her she'll still have you as a friend, and may even bring you up to another person.
On the flip side, if you get on Hiratsu's badside, he'll be bitter to other people in RP for a time being. It's all real time and all my RP form a single continual time line. I keep things in order. Hence why I don't do snuff. Not only do I find it tasteless, my character dies, they are dead. And I don't want that. To wrap up the good part of me and why you should RP with me, I long term, good posts, no filler or lack of detail, fair, interesting, and I'm trustworthy. A final note I think I'll mention: I keep OOC and IC seperate. If I'm angry at you OOC, that won't affect my character. If I'm happy, or sad, or whatever, I don't change the way my character would normally act. You really have no reason not to RP with me, unless you don't find any of my characters interesting (*Gasp* Blasphemer!)
The Bad.....
I really trip out if you OOC in the RP window. It bothers me to no extent. You see, I save all my RP. Every single one, no matter how short. I even try to log my chat RP. Cuz, it's all part of my storyline, so it's vital to me. OOC in the RP window taints that, and when I save it and see OOC in my log it's like...ewww. That's why I keep two windows open when RPing with you: one for OOC and one for IC. It bothers some people. Plus I've gotten a few complaints about my fighting, saying it wasn't fun getting their character's ass stomped. I can only say if you get beat by my character then you need to work on your technique. My characters all have polished and finely honed abilities.
They rely on technique and mentality to win a battle, not brute force or power. Whereas one person may plow through a fight with a huge massively built character with a twenty foot sword, my characters will rely on skill to overcome an adversary. This translates to the majority of my chars fighting in melee, since it is the most fair. Also, most of my characters are "small". Not hugely built or physically overpowering. I guess it is insulting for some people with PCs and big bulky chars to loose to a scrawny kid. Sorry?
I'm also a perfectionist. I used to DM back in the days of D&D and it is possible you may choose to RP in Mad World(My world) instead of Ayenee. If so I DM the enviroment and control the NPCs. This annoys some people. Some love it. But most of the time I find people not as maticulate as me and when you mess up I can't help but point it out. I'm sorry I don't mean it but it if a flaw of mine. Be warned.
Another issue people have with me is my attention craving. Yes, I crave it. If you go a few days without talking to me I get nervous. Paranoid even. I blame my abandonment issues. Yes, childhood related. Want to know? Too bad, this page is about RP, not my IRL troubles. And if I see you in chat talking and chatting and you're ignoring me it bothers me. I don't like people being invisible, cuz I think you're hiding from me. And if you say you don't wanna RP, that's cool. But when I see you turn right back around and go into chat RPing with someone else I feel inadequate. Plus you should just say "Not with you" or "I'm already in one".
Being honest with me hurts less than lying. God I can't stand being lied to. It's a weakness. So yea, I can be a bit clingy. It pushes some people away, but I have my defense. Also, I'm a tad over protective of my friends, if you can understand that. A few people said I was boring to RP with. I'd like to chalk it up to the fact that they couldn't appreciate my attention to detail and a good storyline, but I don't know. Over all I don't think I'm too crazy. Not too much at least.
The Ugly.....
Hm...I honestly can't think of too much to put here. Let's see...ok. I blood lett. That bothers some people. Alot really. But it's something I do. I uh, have alot of IRL issues right now. And try as I might sometimes I can't keep them to myself. My demanding of attention can lead to arguements. I want to let you know that now, to be fair to you and warn you I'm like that. I'm a compassionate man. I experiance every emotion with vigor, and reply every slight with vengance. Be on my good side, and you couldn't have a better friend than me. I'll stick by you until I die. Get on my bad side, and may your god take pity on you. I won't stop until I've gotten retribution for whatever you did to me.
I can't do things in small parts. Subtely is rare. There can be times when I'm depressed and push my friends away. There can be times I'm all over you prying at you for attention. They'll be times when I just flip out and act a fool. I'm bi polar, and have BPD. A few others, but like I said this is not the place to tell you about me. It's about RP, but I feel it is vaguely relevant since it will affect my OOC relations. So a warning before you think about RPing with me: I'm retarded.
