NEW IN THE NEWS New in the News: Episcopal Church suffers hissy fits--Prayer works for holy Hillary--Offensive in Iraq failing--Immigration bill stalled--Foreigners maintain slaves on Long Island--Holy Hillary. --- Holy Hillery!
Religion was much at issue this month past. And on such a sensative issue
no month would be complete without an unfeeling remark from our beloved Leader Mr Bush. As his visit to Italy touched off violent demonstrations,
The Leader put more fuel on the fire when the all wise leader in his private meeting with the Roman Pontiff
called the Pope "Your Sainthood." The pillorying in the Italian media added a certain zest to the
rioting in Rome. The incidents went unreported in the US.
Religion and politics are the two most dangerous subjects of discussion. In fact, freedom of religion is so important in America that, according to the Society, everybody should have two at least.
This month we are privileged to see 'Awesome' David Lawrence debate candidate Andy Martin on the issues: Jewish Republicans and the Gaza Strip. Was the retrocession of the Gaza Strip to the Palestinians a recession of civilization?
The Christian world was startled by a doctrinal dispute in the usually placid Episcopal
communion. Long regarded as more of a social club than a religion, the Episcopal Church
experienced a measure of dissension over its liberal position on gay rights.
Many congregations have left the fold. The stunned Episcopal heirarchy,
more accustomed to the sociability of tea and garden parties,
and unused to questions of religious doctrine, protested that
departing congregations ought not take Church property with them.
Christian love and brotherhood may always be with us despite occasional outbursts.
The Evangelical Christians called the Mormons "nuts," questioning many of their
curious practices.
According to Dr Davies, the Mentor of the Society turned exponent of Bush administration policy,
the difficulty of the BAC may be the failure to adhere to "the veritable episcopal tradition of
whenever there are two or more there ought to be a fifth."
Fragmentation of the unity of conservative leaning denominations
accelerated by jealousy and petty hatred, according to Dr Davies,
may bring an end to the coalition which has faithfully supported the Bush presidency
but received little in return from the administration in terms of supporting the Conservative agenda.
"Such squabbling," the mentor says, "will in the short run help Democrats. In the long run, it may advance the cause of rationality."
Prayer indeed does work, says Holy Hillary, Senator of New York.
Now following in the footsteps of the last foreign junior senator from New York
in a race for the presidency, she prays for her marriage to the prolifigate
Bubba Bill. To whom should Holy Hill pray? According to our favorite Serb, many Orthodox Christians
believe Bill and Hill to be servants of the Devil.
Speaking of the Devil, Christy Whitman, former governor of smog ridden New Jersey,
responding to criticism Michael Moore's new movie 'Sicko'
about the shortcomings of US health care vehemently denied that she was aware of the health hazards presented
when she as head of EPA declared the smoldering ruins of the WTC safe
for rescue workers many of whom now suffer from strange deseases.
The two major initiatives of the Administration, an immigration bill to legalize
the status of millions of unassimilatable foreigners and to take control in Iraq,
appear stalled with the latter headed for a miserable failure.
Despite replays of heroic images mostly painted in silouhette throughout the tabloids, Army officials admitted that on the eve of the anniversary of the dramatic declaration of victory in 2003 aboard the USS Kennedy, they controlled less than 40% of a capital they purported to have captured four and one half years ago. With recruiting nonexistent; the newspapers have been admitting that recruiting has failed miserably in the Black community as it has in the White. The Army is reluctant to release units for a rest deemed necessary by Army psychologists to combat widespread mania and depression. "We might never find them again," Army officials acknowledged. The press conceded a spike in casualties but have vaguely couched precise numbers. BBC
vaguely stated the total in round number `bout three thousand and a half dead
with unknown numbers physically or mentally incapacitated.
The New York Times claimed total combat casualties to be around 1,000,
2000 below the last officially acknowledged figure in December 2006.
According to our favorite poetess witch Allie M. Harnisch the commander of Fort Lewis Washington,
home post of the famed 9th Infantry Division,
has ordered that no further war memorials be placed on the installation. A nationwide petition
campaign is underway to reverse this decision.
The Administration agreed to sit down to tables with Iran over the alleged support of
the Iraqis who continue to combat the US invading forces.
After years of saber waving, US, faced with clear cause for war,
the taking of British seamen, backed down from bellicose proclamations
and requested talks.
The usually bland BBC commented, "It is hard to see anything productive in talks between the US, which regards itself as a master of the world, and the Islamic Republic which sees itself as the World's savior from the Satanism of the US."
The Administration's proposal to legalize the status of millions of illegals stalled in Congress. Although most Americans prefer to give them the heave-ho, neither party is willing to espouse that position as a plank in their platform.
It makes little sense to wait to go out there and fight them if you want to let them come here.
In the midst of tragedy there is humor. As Congress debated the sanity
of allowing unassimilated foreigners in, the foreigners showed the US what
they were truly capable of. Two foreign doctors were holding household servants
in a state of slavery. This came to the attention of authorities when the
foreign slaves were out and about barefoot in the St. Patrick's Day snow
and ice storm. Both of the doctors are held in Federal custody pending charges, pleading ignorance as their best excuse.
