CHRIS  WOOLLAMS

Chris Woollams was head boy of Watford Grammar School and then went as a scholar to Oxford University where he read Biochemistry specialising, in his fourth year, in viruses and cancer. Asked to stay for a doctorate he went instead into the world of advertising where he rose rapidly at Ogilvy and Mather. He was MD of Publicis and chairman of Ted Bates, and on European and worldwide boards of the third largest group in the world by the age of 34. He then founded his own group (WMGO) with three friends. Chris pioneered the idea of Integrated communication and joint ventures in media, both ideas went on to become commonplace. When the WMGO reached 74 clients and 9 companies after just seven years, he put it on the stock market and retired. Always innovative, and often controversial, he has remained friends with a great many clients who valued his contribution.

Having always had a great interest in health and sport, Chris next trained in nutrition, Reiki and as a personal trainer.

In 2001 his daughter Catherine aged 22 was diagnosed with a brain tumorur and given less than 6 months
to live. The 'record' at St Thomas' Hospital in London at the time was just 18 months for this type of cancer.

Catherine wanted a magazine full of tips that could go into hospitals - so they created icon magazine
(Integrated Cancer and Oncology News). After two years, two doctors asked him to write down what he had discovered, as Catherine was very much alive. He wrote the book 'Everything you need to know to help you beat cancer' and it immediately became a best-seller. Asked about diet all too frequently, he wrote 'The Tree
of Life'
in 2004, but this became 'The Rainbow diet ' almost immediately. Again, it has become a best seller.
Chris has written 5 other books - the latest  ('The Secret Source of your good health') being to a wider audience than just cancer as it was the first of its kind, and about Gut Bacteria.

Chris has spent more than a decade speaking all over the world on health, so it became a natural step that
he would add a wider list of chronic illnesses to his roster - he launched www.chriswoollamshealthwatch.com
in 2014 covering research news on everything from Alzheimer's to Heart Disease. His aim, as always, is to present research that is often about natural therapies and usually ignored by mainstream medicine as it is without profit for the pharmaceutical companies.

However, Chris fervently believes in 'self-empowerment'; namely, helping people make better personal choices about their health. "All they need is easy access to the research information, written in an easy to understand, highly user friendly way," he says.

Chris has homes in Thailand and the South of France, and an organic garden, solar panelling, plus lots of dogs, chickens and children! He epitomises the lifestyle, not just the diet, conveyed in the Rainbow Diet.
