Labs-DLJ Updates

Installation:

You MUST have a Palm Document reader installed on your Palm/Visor etc, to read these docs. I suggest WordSmith which allows you to edit them on your Palm also, in a format that you can beam to anyone, doesn't require excessive memory, and allows bookmarking. Any Palm Doc reader will work though, such as Isilo/MDReader, etc.

To install the docs - just double click on their icons. This will put them in the Install tool/program, and they will install at your next HotSync without any further actions required on your part.

To access - open your Doc reader on the Palm. They will be seen under the category ALL or UNFILED. Tap on the desired document to open and read it.

Categorizing - when the document is open, you should be able to assign it a different category, to help organize. Mine are all assigned to the category "Labs-Lytes" for example.

The Labs-DLJ Updates file on your Palm has the version updates info.

Use of these documents constitutes agreement with the following statement.

* This is a convenience list, taken from various sources, not checked for accuracy, but *free* for Palms. Use at your risk! No warranty to accuracy or correctness implied or otherwise.

** Laboratories often set their own normal ranges. Especially with ** items, check with your own labs. 'L' is used for Liter, due to the I and l looking similar on the Palm IIIx. List mostly uses "conventional" units, not "SI" (System International) as that is what our hospitals use. For conversions, see Harrison's.

Update List

1.31 - 4/15/01 Added PSA age ranges and minor editing to Chem formats. Minor updates to Pregnancy Values, adding 1 screening U/S at 18-20 wks, and format editing.

1.3 - 3/13/01 Added Normal Hematologic Values, Adult and Peds.

1.22a - no update to files yet. Plan on adding hematologic values next. (What is the lower limit of normal on MCV's at 6 yo again?) Edited for Palm Inc's TM rules.

1.22 11/27/00 - Added in Pediatric Normal Vitals and Labs. Added bookmarks and minor changes to Chemistry and additions to Pregnancy. No changes to ascites. Stopped doing ISilo format, as it had too many extra empty lines to be very useful.

v1.21

These 3 lab documents for health care professionals are created for Palm Pilots. I use them in my FP residency (2nd yr). RTF (rich text) files for you to modify prn, as well as the actual Palm doc format files are included here. A Palm Doc reader is optional (I now use SmartDoc, as it can edit on the Palm, instead of just the PC). The package comes in plain Palm doc files. Previously they were in iSilo Files for nicer formatting, but the extra lines it inserted compromised usefulness. You can however cut and paste from the RTF documents, which you can easily modify, into the Palm Desktop MemoPad or put in Word for conversion to Isilo with nicer formatting but extra lines if you wish.

v1.2 Corrected titles of Docs, cleaned up formats, added fibrinogen and FSP's. (after a DIC case...)
