Polling Place
This is our newest update of this link concerning polls of the membership
of TexasVets. Please read and follow the directions below explicitly.
Here's the way it works. Any poll that we do will be announced on the
TexasVets eMail distribution list. You not find the topic of the poll here.
This is only the polling place. You will have to know what is being polled
to have your vote counted.
Every member of TexasVets will be able to participate whether or not
they have a YahooID and password ( which I still strongly recommend ).
This is the simplest, most labor free method of polling possible via this
method.At first we will keep it simple. It may be actually possible
to do multiple polls simultaneously but for now let's explore this technique
in it's basics. There will only be two choices for our purposes now - YES
or NO on any issue. Later on it will be possible to expand on the choices
and customize for the topics of other polls.
Follow these steps explicitly to cast your vote :
1. The poll topic will be announced as a TexasVets message, please
click on one of the choices below.
Clicking will open a window from your mail program
and everything is preset for delivery to us.
DO NOT CHANGE THE ADDRESS LISTED - it is preset
to deliver to the polling place.
2. The subject line will read Yes/No on Issue of -
Complete only the subject line with the topic of the poll.
e.g. If the poll announced concerns "..Adding NCVEI as
a member of TexasVets" then just add that
phrase to the end of the "Yes/No on Issue of" preset in the subject line;
don't erase anything just add to the line. If you change the beginning
your vote will not be counted.
3. DO NOT WRITE ANYTHING AS A MESSAGE; your editorial opinion
is UN-necessary.
We will not read nor reply to these. They will not
be posted on the list.
Don't waste your time or ours with commentary. A vote
is not an essay question.
The point is the subject line. Its only important to know
if you are for or against the proposition
stated in the poll. Everything is pretty much automatic.
4. Press SEND and your vote is on its way.
Your name and address will be validated as part of your
ballot.

Polled votes will be collected via email at a remote address from TexasVets
so only Dave or I will have access to the results. The voting is open
to every member of the list; the ballot box is secured and available only
to us. To vote, you must be a member on TexasVets. Anyone stumbling onto
this page without knowing what we are voting on will not be counted. You
will have to have read the topic of the poll on the list and add it to the
subject line in order for the vote to count. No one will be allowed multiple
votes and duplicates will be eliminated.
Your vote will not be counted if you try to vote on the list !!! If there
are private comments about the questions or other ideas on the topic please
contact Dave at [email protected] or me at [email protected]. The
more the merrier. If you know of anyone who is more lurker than participant
get them to vote so that we can get a good idea of what direction the group
might want to take.
