As most of the people reading this know, I had some bad experiences with drugs and I now dont do drugs anymore. That doesnt really change my perspective on drugs all that much. Drugs are pretty much just like alchohol in a way, some people can drink every once in a while with no problem and then some people are alchoholics. Its the same way with drugs, just the withdrawl is worse if you let yourself become an addict. Like my drug counselor said, "All drugs should be legal, people should just be shown how to use them properly." Like say all drugs are made legal, people could be required to pass a course teaching them the proper way to use, the ammount to use, how often to use, when to use, etc. to be able to purchase the drugs. They could have doctors show how to inject properly if people insist on doing that. A lot of pointless crime would be eliminated by doing this. Gang violence would go down, pointless possetion charges on people just trying to have a good time would be eliminated. You would actually be getting what you think and not something cut with something harmful. I almost died once because i didnt know that the coke i was doing was cut with crystal meth and overdosed on crystal meth. The government would also be able to make a huge profit on drug taxes. It would be great for the economy because of that and because it would provide thousands of jobs and business opporitunities. marijuana can be made into hemp and hemp can be made into fuel, clothes, jewlry, rope, plastic, paper, food, canvass (this word is actually rooted from cannabis), bird seed, paint, resin, shellacs, varnishes, Construction products such as medium density fiber board, oriented strand board, and even beams, studs and posts could be made out of hemp. Because of hemp's long fibers, the products will be stronger and/or lighter than those made from wood, the products that can be made from hemp number over 25,000.
So just marijuana alone being legalized would provide a lot of service to this country. If people used drugs responsibly, everything would be fine. just like alchohol. Most all of the other countries of the world are getting a lot more lenient on drug enforcement but the untited states. Some are even talking of legalization.
