When I get down and feeling sad
and my day is looking bad,
there's one thing that's good to have
something that will make me laugh.
Disappointments are frequent in this life.
Many people living in anger and strife.
What our world needs so much now
is to make us laugh, if you know how?
Times are tough and there's so much pain.
Comedy has a way to break the strain;
To excite a life from being too plain,
make me laugh so I don't complain.
To the people who use their funny style
to make me laugh and make us smile,
thanks for helping me forget my grief.
Your art gives my heart great relief.
Do you know a story with an amusing blend?
By all means tell it, just don't offend.
I can use a tickle before the day's end.
Make me laugh and I'll be your friend!
