| "Fond Memories" I reminisce to the time, when I was... a little child. Sundays, after church...we'd visit my Grandmother, for a while. She was the sweetest, kindest person...in my life, I've ever known. A Deeply Faithful Christian Lady, whose good nature's always shown. We could sense, excitement building, as we pulled up...in her driveway. I seem to recall, that it never failed, to be...a bright and sunny day. First Dad would go a tappin' and she'd be looking out through her door. Then, fetch us kids and say "quiet", we'd walk sofly across the floor. We had a rule to go in, from the youngest and finally...to me. I remember, closing her storm door and even it... shut silently. Upon walking in, you could smell a yummy delicious scent. But, after searchin', I wondered, where all the good food had went. For a child, used to playing wild, it was a calm, kind of eerie. We all called her "Nanny", who was the greatest to everybody. She kept an immaculate house, always orderly and very neat. Back to her living room, we'd go... Dad would say, have a seat. We had to be on our best behavior and not make any kind of noise. That was not easy at all... for three restless girls and boys. It was a bit uncomfortable...just to sit and do nothing. But, Nanny would come and ask, would you kids like to swing. It was kind of hot outside but, six young kids didn't mind. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly... it was such a fun filled time. After a while, Nanny'd come out and offer some iced tea, with little tin glasses...which were a tiny bit strange to me. Her tea was always perfect: cold and deliciously sweet... My Grandmother's tea was such a treat, it couldn't ever, be beat. Those sure were the days, not a care...in the world, back then. Funny how things gradually change, then it's all... new again. It's so sad...losing what you had, before you appreciate the time. Nanny's now gone...to her Heavenly Home but, she's always in my mind. and 'though She's not here anymore, I know I'll meet Her again. When I get to Heaven... I'm Sure, Up There...I will see her Then.
