Promises are to be kept...
but promises can be broken.
A friend will stand with you,
regardless of what's been spoken.
Rumors that are... all about you,
can spread like a wildfire
yet the true friend really knows,
that you... are not, "the liar".
Money has absolutely no meaning,
when it comes to a dear friend.
You can tell them anything.
A friend tries to understand.
Whatever are, your circumstances...
A friend is always there.
No other gives that special solace.
Oh! the misery... a friend can spare.
Don't worry, where a friend comes from,
no matter the background, sex or race.
Once you know that you've got one,
Nothing can ever take...a friends place.
