The desert kingdom of Khari is a small and isolated area, smack dab in the middle of nowhere. It's a distant place, which is somewhere between a theocracy, a despotism, and anarchy. This area is held tightly by the Church of the Divine Lucre, an institution that stresses that castes are necessary to attaining the perfect society. While the mayor of el Joda should, for all intents and purposes rule Khari, his position is basically one of a signature needed to pass papers shoved at him by the church. You have been called by the church, a small ways to the north of here, to aid them on a mission, involving the supression of some religious blasphemy, or something. Currently, you are in the city of Petron, a small strip of incomplete road, with a few buildings attached, and a lake, at the far-eastern end of Khari. You are to leave to the north into el Joda, where you will recieve new orders, from a man named Archpriest Heneras. Maybe then, will you unravel these two strands.
