He sat down one day
then knelt down to pray
so that he just may
with her could he stay

He arose with a shock
after hearing a knock
so he went to unlock
the door and its lock

when he opened the door
he could see nothing more
the th shirt he had tore
off the girl he'd prayed for

he remembered it well
he'd felt all but hell
and hoped she'd not tell
or else he she would sell

so he gave her a smile
and his best puppy dog face
but instead of a laugh
there was a tear in its place

he started to cry
he didn't mean to hurt her
he'd promise never to repeat it
and to definetly lear
he'd give her anything
to show all his concern

but all that she did
was take him outside
her dad shot him once
in the middle of his side

he fell to the ground
he could hard'ly breath
so with his final goodbyes
he mouthed the words I love you, Deneath.

She'd caught those few words
before he rest and lay dead
she ran to her father and
on his chest laid her head

he stopped and
told her something
she would never forget
all dogs go
to heaven
so don't you fret
when you die
you'll see him
the dog you named Jet.
