It has been put to me that the Finches discovered by Darwin represent some sort of counter-example of evolution.The fact is that they are an indication OF evolution,though the argument of what represents a species may well find itself exemplified by animals that can interbreed but are called seperate species.Hybrids are another subject seemingly fraught with problems - even so there is no sense in which evolution is disproven by the Galapagos Finches.For more information on this subject,please see Bill Bryson's "A short history of nearly everything."
