So they were taken to the Freedom Fighter base, witch was now located in a cave. Inside, Sonic met the new resistance leader Tails who had now aged and hardened. Around him, he saw a few older, but failar faces.
"You can't be Sonic."
"What?!" Tails shot a beam gun at him, and Sonic dodged it.
"Oh my gosh you are Sonic." Tails walked up to Sonic, lookng at a ghost fro his past. Sonic had, by now, gotten the impression that he had died.
"So.... How did I die?" Tails led Sonc deeper into the cave with a torch.
"Well... On one mission you, and Uncle Chuck, were unable to escape from the bombs you had planted. Robotropolis was once again destroyed, but you were..."
"Dead. And Sally?"
"She died of greif shortly after." Sonic and Tails stopped walking. They were at a shrine. A pictre of Sonic was in the middle of the table, as well as Sonic's shoes. Candles surrounded them. Sonic didn't realize that Tails was still talking.
"With you here, we can take out Robotnic in no time. Sonic? Sonic?"
A great flash, then Sonic was back n Rotor's lab.
"You're still here? I guess it didn't work. I'll just try again."
Sonic raced out of the time machine and stayed Rotor's hand before it pressed anything.
"It worked Rotor! Believe me it worked."
