Lifehouse/Fiction Plane Concert
Myrtle Beach
July 10th

Went to see these guys with Erin and Cassie on July 10th. I was really excited because I downloaded a bunch of Lifehouse's second album, and watched and rewatched all their videos. I was pretty Jason-smitten. I like every song of their's that I've heard so far, and I had heard Fiction Plane songs also and liked 'em. FIction Plane was on MTV and they were talking about how the lead singer is Sting's son and how he doesn't wanna be known as only that. I don't think he has to worry, the band has good potential to get bigger just on their name.

We drove down and got there exactly in time for the curtain to drop on Fiction Plane, and to find spots to stand in the pit where we could see and be close. Throughout the whole concert I was uncomfortable, since I was sore from driving, standing the whole night, and being squished.

However the music was good. Fiction Plane had a lot of energy and I liked their music, especially the songs I had heard before: Cigarette, Hate, Everything Will Never Be OK...etc.

Lifehouse started with not a fast get the crowd going song, but with a slow, dramatic song. I would have rather had a crowd pleaser be first, something that woulda gotten us more excited. Jason Wade, the lead singer, was hot as usual, and they did a good performance. I again, liked all the songs I knew. I can't think of many stand out songs that I rememebered in particular. But they did good. I just wish I didn't have to stand the whole friggin time.

After the concert I met the members of Fiction Plane, and I couldn't think of much to say to them, but I did talk to Joe the lead singer (and hot guy) for a while, and he let me take a pic with him. Also go a pic with Jason from Lifehouse, and I think some of the other members were behind us...when I say us, I mean Erin and I. Cassie was out smoking. We weren't allowed to bring in camera's in the concert, so I had to run to the car to get my camera. Also had to run back out there to get something for them to sign.

We hung around a bit more after that, getting autographs and me getting yelled at by the jerk body guard (for downloading a CD). Then we were dying of thirst, and hurting, and looking like hell, so we went to Denny's. Talked for a while about random stuff, and then we decided to get the heck home. I'll scan the pics as soon as they get developed.

Movies

Pirates of the Caribbean
Liked this movie alot. Prolly the best movie I've seen lately other than Finding Nemo. It's kinda weird that the only good movies out recently are Disney.

But yeah, the movie is about this girl (Keira Knightley) who has this piece of gold on a necklace that is cursed pirate gold. It doesn't really belong to her, it was this boy's (Orlando Bloom) who was her orphaned childhood friend. Yeah. Well, the girl gets kidnapped by the cursed pirates who stole the gold in the first place. They wanna reverse the curse. So Orlando wants to save her, and enlists the old captain (Johnny Depp) to those bad pirates. They set off, with Johnny Depp really just wanting to get his old ship back.

The movie doesn't take itself too seriously, and has a lot of laugh out loud humor. Johnny Depp steals every scene in the movie. He's hilarious. The sets, costumes, plot, story, characters, action...all go together extremely well. I just like everything about this movie, go see it. 1
