Early February, 2000- After airing of "She"
Mind-numbing visions into Angel

"She" is the first time I've seen the chemistry come along with Wesley in the group. I've been thinking about Joss saying that Wesley cracks him up with the counter that "Well, not everyone went to the English boarding school there, Joss." But the dancing thing- ha! At the end of "She" I found myself wondering if Jhiera's the bad guy of the season. How far could the Wolfram & Hart thing go? I wonder if they're the big bad of the show. Afterall, evil lawyers are the biggest evil of them all. I'd like Jhiera to be the bad of the season, I like the attraction among possible enemies that are really fighting for the same cause.

I hate to think it, but it seems "Angel" embodies all the old greatness of "Buffy". Maybe it's that this week's ep (talking about the airing of "She") was written by Noxon & Greenwalt. (side fact: I do believe this is the first Marti's actually gotten down on paper for "Angel".)- I mean if Greenwalt & Marti wrote an episode- let alone together- if it'd be anything but great, it'd be a fluke.

"Buffy"'s gotten too soap operay, too teenily sexual. "Buffy" seems to thrive on the brilliant creation of the characters- their hilarity & uniqueness. Where's the intense storyline? The military thing was cool for a while, but with 314 it seems to have taken a bad turn. It's no secret "Angel"'s getting more production work- Hell, the music's even better of late. I'm hoping it's just that this is "Angel"'s first season & they're out to prove their worth. But I'd think a million more viewers than "Buffy" would shout to Whedon & Greenwalt that "Buffy" needs a bit more work. Go back to your roots, my friend. Not every fan wants a soap opera, I mean, if they did they could see the lower quality tv that airs every weekday from 12 to 5 PM. I hate to criticize, I was thinking today "God, how much work it must be to do both these shows to this quality". I can't even properly keep up a website while taking 5 non-slack college classes. But yet the critizism comes. Maybe something should be considered- Whedon be executive producer of "Buffy", Greenwalt as a co- like it is now. But Greenwalt being top executive producer alone of "Angel" & Whedon being a co. Of course, that'll never happen.... I hate to complain, all I do is complain in this section, but when I get some idea I have to write it here- it's the law. Plus, if I didn't complain I wouldn't get you thinking. If you agree with my crazy rants, then cool, you'll think of other things to add on to my rants. If you completely disagree you'll then you'll start to think of the reasons why you disagree & it'll get you thinking. & Thinking will help you enjoy the shows more. Be an active watcher, these aren't the kinds of shows you watch with an idle mind.
