That's My Take Archive Late February: airing of "Who Are You"/"The Ring"

First of all, I have a feeling that not everyone totally got what happened in this last episode, so I wrote an explanation of events along with the episode summary this week: "Who Are You" Episode Summary. (Read it to understand what I'm gonna be saying here, because a lot of my revelations are in this summary) You back? OK, notice that there were different opportunities for Faith to get gone quick. She could have taken another flight, gone when she could have instead of going to the church... But, see, this is what we call Fate. Faith never meant to live Buffy's life, she never wanted to start to feel that, but when she did, even for a night, she had all these revelations that just changed her forever. I found this episode profound & sad. The worst hell for Faith was to be put back in her place. Faith just hates herself so much, she is full of such self-loathing. It's horrible for Faith to think she was free of herself & then to not be. The thing about Faith is that the hardships in her life started to make her think that she wasn't good enough for anything. & when she started to think that, she stopped caring about everything. & her conscience was lost. But, once she started to have things, even though they were Buffy's things, that conscience was awakened. Also, she found that she had a duty & for the first time fully realized that. This episode, "Who Are You", was perfectly titled. P.S. Thank you, Joss, for giving Faith the turn around I've always hoped for. Other issues, I was wrong about The Initiative. Adam said this week that he was created solely to kill life. Meaning, the flaw was that he couldn't be controlled by his creators. The Initiative have been simply evil the whole time. Are they leading to a Cordy/Wesley relationship at last, because with this week's ep, I sensed something. They were no longer as annoyed with eachother as they usually are. It was good to see Wesley take care of himself when looking for Angel. He's learning nicely. He's also getting sexier by the episode. The underlying message of "Angel" was very good. Angel trying to not just free himself, but all the others from oppression. So the police are crocked too? They are friends with people who aren't on the up & up. Sucks for Kate when her employers find out who she's friends with. Do Wolfram & Hart have a pack with the devil or what? Does Joss want the Buffyverse to have a devil? Or was The First from "Amends" ("Buffy" ep) the devil. This episode tested Angel's character many times. Tested how far he would go to not kill, how far he would go to be free. But, we all know Angel's the hero, so of course, his tests came out 100% with a conscience. The ending was pretty funny & sorta weird considering they freed creatures from oppression, & yet released those creatures out unto the world to possibly do harm. But I guess you take that risk with everyone & thing. OK, it seems that "Buffy" is far more attention getting than "Angel". Also, "Buffy" has way more sex, it is more adult regardless of whatever "Angel" is tagged as. "Buffy" should come on after "Angel". OK, now this will contain SPOILERS. I'm going to talk about Faith's future. & since she's crossing over between shows I'm putting this here in That's My Take's Buffy/Angel section. OK, Faith is coming on "Angel" in a few eps. & of course, I love Faith so I'm all for it. There's no better place for Faith to go than 'Angel Investigations'. Because when you got something to redeem for, that's the place to go. She'd also be fun to have around. She has a funny, careless way to her. Joss has such a Faith infatuation, so if Eliza is willing to do "Angel" full time, he so would make her a cast member. Of course, Faith's not out of the wood's yet. We never learned what the 7-3-0 riddle from "Graduation Day pt.2" was about. Also, in "This Year's Girl", the first dream Faith had, her & Buffy were talking about 'little sister' coming & the first thing I thought when I heard that was that they were referring to a new slayer- meaning Faith would die. I can totally foresee them making Faith turn around before her death. She'd have to do something to majorly redeem herself before they killed her off. I wouldn't like to see Faith die, though. & I think that the element of Faith would give "Angel" that little extra something they need to make the show as complete a cast as "Buffy".
